Royal Wedding Tea Party Buffet Table

Biscuit Center Piece

I couldn’t find any Union Jack flags in town, so I printed my own and glued them to toothpicks.

Bay Shrimp and Tarragon Croissant Sandwiches

Scones with Strawberry Jam and Clotted Cream

Trader Joe’s carries clotted cream and it isn’t as good as the real thing in England because they have to pasteurize the cream to sell it in the U.S. which changes the consistency, but it was still pretty good.  Click here for the scone recipe….

Plowman Sandwiches with Neal’s Yard Cheddar Cheese and Chutney

Butterfly Cakes

My Grandma used to make these little cakes and it is a very traditional British cupcake that really takes me back to my youth.  My friends would have them at their birthday parties and women would proudly make them for the village gymkhana’s we would attend when we were kids and it was such a treat.

Lemon Curd Tartlets and Strawberries Dipped in Chocolate

Trader Joe’s has the best lemon curd and I use it as a cheat all the time.  To make the strawberries, melt some chocolate and dip the strawberries, and then melt some white chocolate in a baggie, snip off a little corner and drizzle the white chocolate over the strawberry and let it set.

Cucumber Sandwiches

It wouldn’t be a true English tea without the ubiquitous cucumber and butter sandwiches with the crusts removed!  What do the Brits have against crusts?!
