- Basmati Rice and Orzo
- Serves 6
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 ½ cups basmati rice, rinsed
- ½ cup orzo
- 2 ½ cups chicken broth
- salt and pepper to taste
In a medium saucepan add butter over medium high heat, and add rice and orzo and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the grains start to turn golden. Add the stock and salt and pepper and stir. Reduce heat to low and place a lid. Allow to cook for 15 minutes.
Turn off the heat and cover the pan with a clean tea towel. Place the lid back on and allow to steam for 10 minutes. Remove and fluff with a fork and serve.
