Riley’s Baby Shower

I am so excited to be a first time step-Grandma to little Riley. I had a baby shower for Jasmine last month and was inspired by photos on Pinterest. I really went beyond how I usually think about decorations, and ventured out to do a lot of paper crafts for the shower. I used the dye cut machine at my local paper store to cut lots of stuff, made pom poms to hang from the ceiling, strung paper circles on fishing line from the ceiling, and made lots of banners which was really fun.  Click here for printable menu, shopping list, decoration list, and time line….

Punched out scallop circles and glued a letter in center and then tied a ribbon around glass.

Covered a large piece of floral foam with paper and then made holes in it for the cake pops. When we were making them, we turned an egg carton upside down and put holes in them to hold the cake pops as they dried.  Then we dipped them in white chocolate and then drizzled them with light blue white chocolate and let them dry thoroughly.

Punched scallop cirles and then glued a letter in center and glued it to a toothpick.  Painted 2×2 pieces of wood to make little baby blocks.  Click here for recipe……

We set up a scrapbooking table with colorful pages, pens, stickers, and scissors and when we sent the invitations out, we asked our guests to think about some great advice for a new mother.  Now she has a fabulous keepsake from her baby shower that her friends and family contributed their best wishes and sage advice for the new parents.
